Having always had an interest in sound, Harrison studied Music Technology at Wrexham Glyndwr University where he discovered the arts of Sound Editing and Field Recording. Harrison is now a Sound Editor and Recordist.
Since completing his degree in 2016 Harrison has worked with independent filmmakers in England and Wales recording on-set dialogue and editing audio post-production. Harrison specialises in delivering evocative soundscapes and emotional sound effects, utilising a range of field recordings and synthesised effects, along with a keen and precise ear!
Harrison is now undertaking a PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University, researching Affective Sound Design using Machine Learning. Harrison has published a paper with a team of researchers on "Supervised machine learning for audio emotion recognition: Enhancing film sound design using audio features, regression models and artificial neural networks" and is working towards enhancing this research, with the help of award winning sound editors and mixers, to use in the filmmaking industry.
Harrison likes to spend down-time practising photography, particularly landscape and wildlife, as a keen wildlife recordist and member of the Wildlife Sound Recording Society.
